ESTABLISHED TRADITION

The Edwin Sidwell Memorial Scholarship

Dedicated to fostering academic excellence and the lifelong bonds of brotherhood across our 31 chapters, this annual award honors those who demonstrate exceptional leadership and scholastic achievement within our fraternal community.

The Edwin Sidwell Legacy

Academic Stewardship

Ed Sidwell’s journey began with a profound belief that academic excellence and brotherhood are inextricably linked. As a dedicated Fraternity-leader at Penn State, he was also a member of the 1958 National Champion Gymnastics Team.

Leadership and Service

After graduation from Penn State, Ed served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the US Air Force from 1958-1961.

Throughout his decades as an active alumnus, Ed championed the integration of Greek life into the academic mission of University Park.

His service on the LFAA board laid the foundation for the strategic support systems we now provide to thirty-one chapter members.

An Enduring Vision

The Ed Sidwell Scholarship has a deeper meaning: it was and is a visionary call to action. It ensures that the brightest minds in our fraternity are rewarded annually, preserving Ed’s legacy of scholar-leadership for future generations.
